Pop-Up: Resilience Through Mindful Leadership

SIGN UP HERE

In today’s rapid moving world, the demands placed on us can often leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed and exhausted. The incessant use of digital devices and the constant exposure to information is drastically impacting our performance by diminishing our ability to focus. In addition, distractions promote autopilot behaviors and hinder our capacity for self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Mindfulness-based techniques enable leaders to train their minds to meet these challenges with resilience, by shifting from reactivity to responsiveness. These practices also heighten our ability to notice patterns of behavior. This allows us the opportunity to determine which habits are supporting our leadership capabilities and which habits might be getting in the way. The ability to cultivate both intention and attention can enhance performance, innovation and creativity while also reducing stress.

In this talk participants will:

  1. Explore the fundamentals in neuroscience to understand basic brain function, emotional triggers and the mechanism of habit loops

  2. Discuss the applicability of mindfulness for busy professionals

  3. Practice simple mindfulness-based techniques that can be easily applied in the workplace to produce positive outcomes and a culture of resilience
