Meet the Speaker:
Nina Thomas is a health care executive with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of health economics, clinical research and sales & marketing. Currently the Executive Director, Global Medical Affairs at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc., Nina oversees teams who play a critical role in the launch of rare disease treatments. Nina is a well-respected expert in life sciences who has held senior roles at a number of large pharmaceutical and biotech companies including Genentech, Lilly & Bayer.
Nina pursued her passion for science with an undergraduate degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in health policy & public health from NYU with additional training in health economics from Harvard’s School of Public Health. Now based in the Bay Area, Nina shares her insights with the next generation of science professionals as a guest lecturer & advisor at Stanford, as well as research advisor for the National MS Society and Hunter College Center for Health Technology.
As a researcher, Nina has published 15+ peer-reviewed papers and presented her research across many conferences over the years, demonstrating her expertise in conducting research to build a value proposition for innovation in health.
In the health & wellness space, Nina has recently become a strategic advisor and investor to Reset Bioscience, a pioneering startup merging CBD isolate with nanotechnology. In all her endeavors, Nina is inspired by the opportunity to give consumers access to information to make informed decisions about their health.
